I think of her often / Shannon Hoffman (Teacher at 4H camp )
I think if Jessica often and esspecially this time of year. Jessica took my horse Jake to 4H camp at Millstone. She started the week being so timid that she needed help bringing Jake down the hill from his stall to be saddled. By the end of the week Jake had worked his magic on her and she was beaming with confidence and having a great time at camp!
On the last day we took out some trail obstacles and Jessica came to me very worried. I asked her what was the matter and she said she did not know how to do trail class! I told her no problem that Jake my horse knew how to do it and that he would help her learn! I remember the smile that came to her face and she ran off to get Jake for the lesson.
I just wanted you to know that story and to understand the great mark horses and kids can make of peoples lives!
I just hope if nothing else is learned from our loss of Jessica is that you need to be careful and vigilant with our children and esspecially carefull with kids and horses. They can do so much for the kids confidance but such bad things can happen if the right considerations are not made in the kids best interest.
All my love to Jessica, Shannon and Jake the horse.
